"SENSOR" flashing on the gauges

I just recently went trough removing my gauge cluster on my 02 GTX 4-tec as it had some water in it. I drained and dried everything out and re-assembled. Now when I put the key in I get "SENSOR" message that flashes five times then goes away. It starts and runs fine.

I noticed when putting the hood assembly back together there were two separate wire harnesses. One large connector which attaches to the back of the gauge cluster and a separate smaller connector which I couldn't find anyplace that it plugs in. I left it disconnected. Not sure if it is something related to this other smaller connector or not.

Any ideas?

Probably your compass is the smaller connector and that is the sensor message. It is located in the hood. Press set 5 times after the sensor message and it will give you a code.

Thanks, its a P1514 code. I got the boat out for the first time this season yesterday and it fired up and idled fine. I idled around for about 5min then got out to the 5MPH marker, rolled into the throttle and as soon as it started to plane lost all power and began to vibrate horribly. Struggled just to keep it running but was able to limp/idle it back over to shore. Felt like it was only running on 1 or 2 cylinders. Not sure if it is at all related or not.

FWIW my compass seemed to be working normally according to what I could see in the gauge cluster. I swear I could not find a place to plug in that small connector. Will have to pull apart and look again I guess

Pulled the hood apart again this afternoon and found where that little connector goes:) Got rid of the "SENSOR" warning and code. Still starts and runs like its on two cylinders however. Pulled the plugs and found the rear most was wet so looks like its just a fouled plug. All out of spares at the moment but looks to be the problem.
