Selling Jet Ski time to buy a boat - What one?

So wife wants to sell the jet skis an get into a Seadoo jet boat. I am looking at a budget of $5K or less. With that said I would like to have something that can hold five people. Is there certain years to stay away from due to issues? What are peoples recommendations?
