Asking for tips here, should I sell a blown seadoo xp 95 or part it out. Its in great shape everything works except the VTS(lol) I just want to recoup a little bit of cash. I really hate the craigslist tire kickers. Just wasted a week with a guy who backed out because the VTS is bad. This is a project anyway you look at it. Looking for advice, I may list for sale on this site if anyone in MI is looking.

Well. It's the trailer included? And are you getting back most of your money? I mean, you gotta throw us a bone.

I would go 200 only to see how low you would go since I could get my money back in the motor as a core to SBT for 100 and mpem / pump ~100. ~ $250-300 just the ski let it go.

Like racer said if trailer included for 300 all day for next owner since trailer a bonus.

No trailer just a ski on really good shape, I think 300 is as low as I will go. I think I could get 400 plus parting it out

Yes but you also have to factor in, what's your time worth? Taking little parts off, driving to the post office 4 times in one week because 4 people want 4 different parts.. Then, people will be nickel and diming you ALL DAY.. If you're EVER considering owning another x4, id keep it.. You have NO CLUE the time and money you may save.. For example, when I got my first ski 4 years ago, I also got a spare hull, pretty much your ski but an spx but the blown motor was out of the ski and most of the bigger parts were in a bucket. Although my main ski was whole, within 6 months, I needed ALL these parts off the donor ski: MPEM, start stop button, post, tuned pipe (needed a weld) buzzer, ground wire, start button housing, vts handlebar tabs, vts motor (yes, mine didn't work either, but it was NOT the motor, as I bet yours isn't)...
You get the picture here.. The MPEM alone was worth it to me.. Not only did I not have to buy it, I had it ON DEMAND.. There's nothing like instant deductive reasoning when trying to diagnose a problem.. Wait a WEEK For a solenoid? Eff that..
Oh, and I needed the starter solenoid

Oh! Wait you have a 96 still, right? Although I think your 95 has a 717 and your 96 has a 787 (is that right?) the bones are almost basically the same and you could use a ton of parts still I'm assuming.. Considering you are willing to pay someone in MI to help you instead of going to the stealership, if someone else confirms a lot of your parts are compatible, I HIGHLY recommend holding onto that spare ski. For example, if you are forced to go to the stealership for a problem, they may tell you it's one thing and it's going to cost $500 for parts and labor, you may very well already have the part.. You're trying to recoup $300 and you're not even losing a trailer, it's just not worth it.. To me.. But to each, his own.. Only because I've been there first hand.. Go back to my original posts from like 2011, I was basically in the same shoes as you, and my one and ONLY ski didn't even have a trailer.. Thank GOD I had that spare ski..
