Sealant for Tuned exhaust pipe

Quick question about the clamped joint of the tuned exhuast pipe. What type of sealant do I need to use? Second, does the copper ring get sealant on boths sides as well as the ends of the pipe?

Copper RTV, a nice bead on both sides of the ring will suffice.

I used the orange and I now know I way overkilled with it LOL!! Im not even going to post pics of mine LOL!! Next time I will use the copper and in much smaller amounts. Good thing is mine does not leak!!!
