I am having the EXACT same problem with a 1997 GTI. Only difference is sometimes I can get it to run and it runs great!!! Sometimes it will not turn over at all. Starter NEW (from seadoo not ebay) Battery NEW, plugs and wires NEW! I am so beyond LOST!!!!

I am having the same problem with my 98 challenger. I have checked the starters and they are good. the plugs are getting power. Could it be that I need to replace my MPEM? Please help I want to shoot the boat.

I just removed all hoses from engine #2 and tried to start it to get every thing out of the engine I put ever thing back together and it started. But engine #1 I can not get to turn over. It just makes a clunk noise. I have tried to turn the engine by hand and it seams to get stuck on something. Any Ideas???

Hmmmmmmmmm

It just amazes me that so many different boats with different engines are all haveing the same problem and there seems to be no answer as to WHY!!!!!

Okay I got both engines running. What I did was remove the full line and started drinking beer. I forgot that I had left it unplugged and then I tried it the next morning and it started. But once again out on the water today I ran it hard for 1hour 45 min. we stopped and took a swim. Then the #1 engine would not turn over. There are 3 black covers which look like the are covering a valve of some sort on the top of the engine. I can remove them by hand. 1 of the valves will not move. I don't know if that helps any one but can any one tell me what that part is???

I was having this problem with my 96 xp 787
I bought a new starter and new battery (after trying a lot of other things) and I spun the Mag flywheel on the crank shaft. now I need a new crank shaft and flywheel BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU DO.

Answers to this question SOON!!!!

Ok just dropped my ski off to the best Seadoo Mechanic in PA and will hopefully have the answers soon as to why this is happening!!! Wish me luck on a ski that runs and doesn't cost me a fortune!!!!!

If your seadoo wont turn over with the plugs in take them out & crank you may get some water shooting out of the spark plug openings. if you do get a good spray of water then keep turning the engine over for no more than 10 seconds at a time till all the moisture is gone. Then if you put the plugs back in & it still wont turn over with the plugs in.
Make sure you have a good battery with a good charge , with the boat on the trailer
prop the front tongue of the trailer up so that the front of the boat is at least a foot higher than the back of the boat. then try to crank the engine watch to see if water starts to run out of your exhaust tail pipe. if so you the engine was hydro locked try and crank the engine till all the water stops coming out of your tail pipe then you should be able to turn the engine over with the plugs in.

Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggggggg

So they tell me my motor is partially seized... How the heck can a motor be partially seized?!?!?!?!?!? It does in fact run sometimes and it runs well, then it stalls and will not recrank. And before you ask YES it runs well in the water with me riding it not just on dry land... So I am soooooooooo confused!!!!!
