Hello--

I have a 2001 Seadoo Utopia with the Optimax 200 Engine...Yesterday I took it out fine, but today it wont go over 10mph. Basically it almost gets to a plane and then bogges down (does not die) It sounds fine, but it just won't go above 10mph and keep a plane. Then I shut it off, then start it again and I can get it up to almost planing again and then it bogges again. I was thinking fuel pump, but I don't know. It is at 6000 ft which I know will give me a 25% reduction in HP, but yesterday I got it up to about 38MPH.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Eric

Check the gap between wearing and impellor, no more than 1mm, at 6000ft..is motor stock, and air system stock? May try hotter plug, higher octane.

low speed problem

I had the same Problem. Took it in and they said it was one of two switch boxes , which you have. (about $340.00 EA) The one was bad & the other had weak Current & was going bad. Check them First if over 5 years old.
