hi i am very interested in buying a seadoo speedster possibly tomorrow i just had a few questions

what is the most common part or thing to break on the boat?

are they good in the salt water is there anything i should do after running in the salt water

what is some maintenance i should do on the boat to make it last for the longest time?

and pretty much anything thing else you guys think i should know about this kind of boat please respond asap

thank you!!!!!

First thing is a compression test. Period.
Water test if possible.
It's worth it to bring a mechanic familiar with seadoos.
Don't get in a rush to purchase. Best time of year to buy.
Post your findings back here for responses. Boat year, hours, condition etc..
Good luck.

the guy said the compression was 145 on left and 150 on right it is a 1996 speedster i think about 150 hours asking 3500 firm with a trailer you think its a good deal?

Since your planning on buying boat I would just go ahead and buy a tester anyway. Easy to do, just pull both plugs from the engine and crank few a seconds to get highest reading. Then do other cylinder. You don't want more than 10 psi difference between the two cylinders. It's acceptable but will need work soon.
