Hi. Long time lurker. Just wanted feedback on your experience on the reliability of the new Seadoos. I have a 130 GTi which is great. Recently bought a almost new 260 RXT-X, with 12 hours total time. Went out today and it broke down. Long tow back home. Engine starts but wont go into gear.
At this point I might just sell. But I just wondered, are they normally better than this? I have read the horror stories but I know that usually people only post with bad experiences. I don't mind getting it fixed this time, but if its a lemon I can't afford to stick with it. I keep them trailered, in my garage and cared for like babies.

Normally MUCH better than that. It is not uncommon to get into the thousands of hours on the 4-tec engine.

Does that assume you do not have one of the pre-2008?? models with the valve stem design problem?
I have a 2005 with about 100 hours and am planning on doing the valves and SC this winter.
Not sure if both exhaust and intake valves have the hollow cores.

There are earlier year machines in my area with less than 200 hours for sales with broken valves.

Engine starting but won't go into gear....I had this happen on my 2010 GTX. Problem was a blown 5(?) amp fuse which controls the IBR. The 30 amp fuse which is on the IBR Motor was fine. This small fuse protects the IBR Module. I believe it is in the starboard one of the two fuse boxes.
