I have a 2002 GTX 4-TEC, regularly serviced (every 40-50 hours, based on the riding season here in the UK), and it is starting to throw out some warnings:
MAINT
CHK ENG
KEY
I try the diagnostics, but no codes appear.
The KEY message, is probably a bad connection, and is intermittent.
The MAINT messages comes on after it has trouble starting - sometimes takes a good few goes to get it started - usually after clearing out a load of week from the impeller.
The CHK ENG however comes on after running it for a few minutes - I can start it after that and it runs fines, but the warning comes on again.
Can't work out what this is - want to see if any of you experts have any idea before I remortgage the house and put it into the shop!
