2006 GTX 4-Tec Supercharged bolts off but stuck

My 2006 GTX 4-Tec Supercharged bolts off but stuck in the case. I can get in to move about 3 inch's back and forth. Thats it ant tips on get it free without breaking it?

Only turns back and forth not out towards stern....

Did you move everything out of the way behind the supercharger (waterbox, tubing, exhaust, etc.)? I had to pull mine back a good way before the s/c gear could get clear of the back of the motor to pull it out. Same with putting it back in. Lots of bloody knuckles on that project.
