Hey guys, its time to start this. I'm going to build a seadoo 951 x4 this winter. Still need a few things.

Need: umi, drop trim or hx trim, ada head or a good head.

Im going to run a white pipe.

Going to start with a 96xp. I will be doing the ski from top to bottom and you all know I love to paint.

Any thing you guys want to see? I plan to glass in the motor mount.

More to come. Im about 2 weeks out from going full bore on this.

Sounds awesome that thing is gonna haul ass

Definitely quick but how fast depends on the build. The X4 hull is only 2-3 mph faster so if your moving the components over from a 59 mph machine.....
My first one was 62mph with sponsons and a scoop grate but it got there very quickly.

The white pipe is a good move. The thing a lot of people miss is fitting the larger pump. A plastic 155mm pump with a Solas 15/20 Concord goes a long way.

Your 100% right. I plan to run a westcoast gate and 155 pump with the 15/20 concored

How much performance gains do you expect over the 96XP? I noticed the 951 has a lot of GRUNT down low but wonder what that will translate into with the lighter hull. I'm interested in the paint work as I have a RX that's ugly. :D :D I don't see a way to resurrect that chalky gray.2000 RX.JPG

It will rip. I have a 97 Spx all done up that does a good 60. I would like to make when I'm done with this ski I'll be pushing every bit of 65 and get there in a hurry. There's not even a comparison from a 96 XP that is stock.

Going to start with a xp800. From what I have seen this is about 30 lbs lighter.

Yes good choice. Thinner top deck and a different glass or production technique then the 96xp has from what I understand. Shame to lose the original look of one of those but you’ll be adding value to it overall.

Instead of buggering with glass, you could always go with the Paul Bretz modified front cover. Just throwing that out there.

Is that mount salvaged from another motor or do you custom fabricate them?
that mount is just custom that he tigged together. looks like 1/2in with a T brace. Im not sure what way im going to do. i might just weld one up but then again i kinda want to glass it in.

If your gonna glass it in search up Ziggy's thread over on GH from years ago. I think he called it "Cyclops" or something. He does the best job I've seen on a couple aspects of the 951 X4 build.

Well I got my mats in and not sure what set I'm going to go with. I plan to paint the bottom yellow and top silver. I also had a custom seat done by jet trim. I just finished a customers boat so I should be on this full time after tonight.

The seat turned out really good. I like the shape you came up with. It's kind of like the Polaris Pro 785 but with more hump.

I'm not going to lie when you bought your pro it made me look at different things and thought I would be a little different

I'll post some updates tomorrow. I do have a question. Is the exhaust outlet on the x4 the same size for the 951? Should I use a x4 water box?
