i have a 1996 seadoo xp. it keeps overloading wits gas in the cylinders, when i try to start it back fires sometimes. have built the carbs and also put a new set on and have the same problem. what should i do?

Sounds like the needle and seat is leaking, or you have aftermarket diaphragms in the carbs. The aftermarket rebuild kits right now are known to have pins that are too long.

i used mikuni rebuild kits. it ran fine for a month. took the carbs apart and they looked great. someone told me it sheered the pin on the flywheel. took rotary cover off and it was one click off, re set and done the same thing. if it sheered that pin and the flywheel moved would it be out of time and cause this to happen?

your flywheel is nowhere near the rv assy. If your rotory valve "skipped", the nyou got issues with the brass gear, inside the case, on the rv assy shaft, if the "woodruff" sheared from the flywheel, then it wouldnt start or poor performance or jam the starter...?

the pins are red on the OE rebuild kits? correct????

Yes. Red pin = OEM

The windrosa rebuild kits are nice, but the diaphragms suck. I've personally changed a dozen where people were complaining about hard starting/flooding. Pop in an OEM diaphragm, and the problems magically go away.

Did you remove the rotary cover where that carbs are, or the Mag cover where the flywheel is? (or both)
