after frying the diode in my mpem using jump leads of a car i have replaced the diode. the ski is now beeping and turning over but no spark has any1 any ideas what it could be. could my key need reprogrammed? plz help

Sounds like you did more damage than just roasting the diode.

If the system is coming to life with your lanyard... NO, it does not need to be reprogrammed.

You can disconnect the wire coming from the MPEM, and intersecting the wire between the engine ,and the CDI. If you get a spark after doing that... you need to replace the MPEM. If you don't get a spark... you may have killed the CDI also.

could u tell me which wire it is plz

Sorry... I just looked up the 99... and the MPEM has the junction internal.

If you look at your coil... and it says "CDI" on it's label... then you can tie the "Black/red" wire from the mag, to the "White" wire on the cdi/coil pack, and see if you get a spark, then the rev-limiter inside the MPEM is gone.
