Seadoo 4tec Head Damage

I have a 2003 Seadoo GTX SC that blew the center piston. A little chunk broke off and banged up the head a little. None of the valves were damaged just marks in the domes. I smoothed out the gouges with a dremel. Will this effect the function of the head and need replacing or will it be OK as long as the valves were not effected?

In most cases, dings and dents that have been smoothed are fine as long as you didn't gonzo deep. You just want to remove the sharp area of the damage.

if you have marks in your dome, your valves are probably bent, they need to be removed and checked as well as the guides which also may be cracked. then they need to be checked under vacuum to make sure they are sealing. you really shouldn't be grinding away material on the head, it will cause it to lose compression.
