One more time asking for help...

I am having problems with my 04 Seadoo 3D and have no idea what might be...

The battery is charged but when I plug in the lanyard it doesn´t make any beep at all and it even doesn´t start the fuel pump. Tried to press the start button and again nothing happens.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance,
Cesar

is it spinning over? can you give more details? if its not spining over it may be your start button is out or key not getting good contact, nutruel switch gone out...try jumping solenoid

try cleaning the contacts on the post, and in the lanyard with some baking soda and a towel. Then, check all the fuses.

Thanks for the answer, and sorry for my short description, but it´s not spinning over... the jet is totally dead...

I´ll check the items that you have suggested and I´ll post the results latter.

By the way, the solenoid would be a problem only if the jet didn´t respond for the pressing of the start button, right? But it this case it should be beeping, right?

Thanks,
Cesar

Update

Well, I´ve checked all the fuses and found the MPEM one blown. I´ve replaced it and it has blown again just after pluging it...

What can I do? Do I have to take the MPEM out to check? Is it possible to fix or do I have to replace it?

Thanks,
Cesar

By any chance did you jump start the ski, or start it while it was hooked to a charger??

In the MPEM... the main diode is roasted. You can fix it... but you have to dissect the MPEM to get to it.

One other thing... does the 3D have a trim system? If it does, disconnect it. When they burn up, they are known to short the MPEM.

Thanks a lot for the reply Dr Honda!

I didn´t jump started or tried to start with the battery connected to the charger! The 3D has a trim, but it is totally manual, so this can´t be the problem.

So... I think that the only thing left is to take the MPEM out and take it to someone who knows what to do, because I´ve no idea!

When I´ve some news about it I´ll post.

Thanks again

Did you look at the starter relay located under the fire extinguisher tray.
if that has ended its short lifespan you will need to make or buy another.
if it fails it will blow fuses and there wont be any power to anything on the ski.

Check out threads on 5 pin relay. Part not listed in manuals but if you buy the live fuse holder that's connected to the starter relay it is included.
There's no part code listed on any Seadoo manuals so buy one or make your own.

Thanks, but I´ve made a test from seadoosource.com and I could confirm that the problem is the diode from MPEM.

I´ll just have to find someone in Brazil who can replace that for me because I don´t know if I´ll be able to get to that without damaging anything.

Cesar
