That's a great deal, don't let grass grow under your feet, one came up on Craigs list here without the ski, sold in less than a day. GO GET IT!!!! The one here was more than that for just the shuttle craft.

Lou

That's a really good deal if its in good condition. The shuttle craft alone goes for more than that in FL.

Great, let us know how you make out. I'm not telling you what to do but if it was me I would send him $100.00 via PayPal to hold it until Saturday. These things are really rare and this one looks exceptional and the ski looks great also.

I just might come up to Maine and buy it myself. :reddevil: Just kidding.

Lou

If done right this could turn out to be a fantastic project. Good luck with it.

please come ill buy the lobster

You know I might take you up on that. My wife and me will probably be in your area, late summer early fall. How far are you from East Sebago?

BTW hows the 69 SeaDoo project going?

Lou

Yep, I know Sebago Lake very well, my wife's folks had a place on the lake. In East Sebago, Ossipee St., we spent many summers there. I might just surprise you one day.

Lou

Nice find. Hopefully you get it.

If that thing was within two hundred miles of me it would be in my garage right now.

I've never driven one but think the idea is great. Make sure the mounting rails are for a seadoo, apparently it is impossible to find mounting rails for those.

Does the the ski go in and out when the shuttle is in the water or the ski needs to be hard locked in?

The ski can come and go. Not required to be "mounted" for the shuttle to remain floating an what not.

Good move, you know another plus is it's set up for a 97 SPX which means any SeaDoo X4 hull ski will work.

I have owned a shuttle craft. Used it for many years and loved every minute of it. They have their definite downfalls, but when setup, they are a cool step above owning just a PWC.

In my young single days, it was the perfect way to get a cooler of beer and four young hotties out to the sandbar with a stereo built in as well. Mine was true MN Viking colors, Yellow with purple and yellow seats. We called it the Big Yellow Chick magnet, only to find out it was the Big Yellow Dick magnet as every dude on the sandbar had to come over and ask what it was and how it worked.

It was all good, we loved the attention at that age. Once I started carting around the family we came to realize we needed more space, and the hull is quite flat. So don't plan on cruising over any decent sized waves. It will beat you to death.

Quick tips:

1. Be sure the bilge pump works, they all leak as the sandwiched halves just plain leak
2. Be sure to have the ratchet strap that goes across the back when the ski is docked in it. It will keep it in place when backing up, and keep the sides from spreading and the ski slipping out of the rails
3. When docking the ski into the rails, splash a bit of water on the rails. It will allow the ski to slide in and out much easier
4. Check your local laws, as in MN, I had to register the Shuttle craft with it's own registration since it was listed as a non-motorized barge.

Be sure to message back if you have any further questions. I had quite a bit of experience with the Shuttle craft Jetsport you are looking at and the company before they were bought out by another in Australia.

Good luck!

awesome ty for the advice
question ,, do they ride like a jet boat or is it totally different

It is it's own animal for sure. It's like a jet in the steering is only as good as the ski pushing it. My GP1200r would push it nicely, but handling was not as tight as a true jet boat. I think this had more to do with the shape of the hull as it was not a true V-hull, rather a flat bottom. So it could not cut a wave well. Each setup would be different.

The amount of power and cavitation was effected by the ski as well, as some could be mounted lower in the water, giving it a fuller "V" and keep the jet in the water batter. Don't expect any super performance as these skis are setup with pumps designed to push 1-2 people on it's own weight. A bigger 3-person ski may have an impeller pitched for more low-end grunt without cavitation.

My GP1200r was 155hp, so it had all kinds of juice, but a person had to feather the throttle to get it and a few people up on plane. Once up out of the water, it would move along real nice, but that motor wanted to overpower the impeller. A lower pitch impeller and a scoop grate would have helped quite a bit.

We used this mostly as a way to get things to the sandbar. Once there, we undocked, setup the platform over the back and anchored it. It gave us a "home base" while taking turns on the waverunner. I also found that it was great on the river for fishing. Since it was flat and propless, we could run the river really well. And there were usually no waves on the river. I would setup rod holders out the bow, and we would anchor off the stern for catfish. AND IT CLEANED OUT EASILY WITH A HOSE AND SIDE DRAINS!!

Good times for sure. I do miss it. It looks like the one for sale has the matching shorelandr' trailer as well. I put the Shorelandr' side bunks on mine. It helped with loading as I had no reverse on my GP1200r. I could un hook the bow and back it and my wife in the lake hard enough to float it off to the point that she could fire it up and spin it away from the landing without reverse

Keep the questions coming!

Here is how it looks with the Waverunner backed out. The sundeck was awesome, but you really want that strap across the back as the sides would spread and the deck boards would fall in with someone on it.

This does a bilge pump in each rail the only thing that i see is the radio dont work..thats ok
Everything else does..and it does have what looks like a trim system on the end of the rail

A trim system would have been interesting. My GP1200r had manual trim, and it was very important to trim the nose all the way down to get it on plane. And keep it from porpoising too bad as well.

Post up some pics if you end up buying it.

As far as drainage, there was a drain plug on each side, but I only had one bilge pump up front of the PWC in the middle. It seemed to be the lowest point on the shuttlecraft jetsport. With the amount of water that could get in these things, it was very important to pull the sundeck boards out during storage to dry things out and keep the mildew growth down.

My Jetsport was the SCX edition that came with lights, radio, bilge pump, bimini top, sundeck, cover trailer, about every option. Most thought it should have had Viking horns down the side here in MN though.

Don't expect to find railkits for these anymore. Set your expectation that you will be using the Seadoo that is in it or a similar ski with the same hull. Nothing would be cooler than one of the new SC 4-strokes, but it just isn't going to happen.

I have a lead on one that is setup with a 2007 GTI... are you saying it won't work with a 2008 rxt-x?

Thanks.
Someone else will have to answer that one. They would have to have the same exact hull to work and I don't think they do.

Inside of each side is a set of bolted on "rails" that adapt to the ski hull. They are specific to that ski. Since Seadoos share so many hulls they were popular as you could swap out the ski. But all the new 4-strokes have new shaped hulls. So there is little to no chance it would work.

Mine came with seadoo rails and I ordered GPR rails and sold the seadoo rails. It was a pain but I made it work
