Just bought this one. On my first trip everything seemed fine until I let off the gas once in a while I would her grinding or noise coming from the rear. On my seconded trip the noise became my frequent during idle but would go away during acceleration. Now it bearly stays on plan and on my way to return to the launch I let it idle and now the noise is constant and stalls the engine. Any ideas? I am thinking the bearings on the shaft?

You may have debris wire or rope around the driveshaft. Wear ring may have come loose. Yes, could be prop bearing.

you need to check the pump. before you took it out, did you check to see if the oil in the pump was clean... or if there was even any oil in it?

Should be easy to check, regardless of what the problem is. If it is on the trailer, pop out the spark plugs, and get under the boat, or in the engine bay, and turn the impeller or shaft by hand. It should feel pretty smooth. Listen for your odd noises, and see if they come from the pump area.

First, check for obstructions in your pump and intake area, but I am thinking it is something internal.

Don't freak out. It is a little bit of work, but not a total loss if the bearings are shot.

No, I asked the guy who sold it to me if all the fluid maintenace was done and he said yes. Hi lied because I pulled the cone off the back and that fluid was brown with a small amout of light brown. I greased the shaft bearing and shaft seal. Grease came out the edges on both. Book said not to grease the boot once it expands. It moved forward a little but didn't expand so I kept going until a little came out on the shaft. Anyway this didn't fix the problem. I took a video today but Im not sure how to post it.

Thanks good call, Im going to try that before I go ripping everything a part. Is there a step by step guide for replacing a bearings, wear ring or shaft if need? I have a video, but not sure how to post it.

Are you talking about the oil in the cone? I pulled the reverse gate and removed the cone to replace the oil. It had brown with some tan oil. didn't look great but it was still thick. I replaced it and tryed again, but the problem is still there.

Any seadoo manual will walk you through the replacement step-by-step. You can buy them at various book stores, or you can join as a premium member and download the manual(s) from this site.

It isn't very hard, but there are several steps that need to be taken in a specific order.
