Sbt stators

Any experience? I bought a good used one from a freshwater rfi but after 15 hours, it crapped out. I would rather buy a new one. Any input on them?

I personally have had no experience, however the SBT stator has a one year warranty, and is one third the cost of OEM, if I needed one it would be a no brainer.

What bugs me is the pic and price. Exactly the same as the chinese ones on ebay... Prolly end up with a used one

Looks good. The problem i have is that the plug melted on the statir and the wiring harness

For the work involved, GO OEM.
don't ask me how I know. Go OEM and go new.

Ive rarely had/seen a Stator go bad, If you had melted wires or connectors its usually due to corrosion. Usually the ground.

The center part where the 3 bolts go were corroded so thats probably what happened then. You have any for the rfi in stock? I need one and the wiring harness plug also

I will look tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I do, definitely have the plug.

Interesting, I have a SBT stator that is going on 4 years old and probably has 100 hours on it. Just curious if people who are posting actually have experience with SBT or just SBT bashing..?

I'm confident Dennis knows what he's talking about, obviously he has a good bit of experience. I think if yours is aftermarket and it works fine then you got a good part, not sure that's always the case.

I know I'd want used OEM in good condition before a cheapo aftermarket one if I'm going to the trouble of yanking my motor to get to it, and that's what I'd have to do in my Sportster.

Richard made the right decision and ordered a good used oem one, which will be on the way tomorrow. He also ordered a harness connector and pins to freshen up both sides of the connector.
