Hi All - new to the forum.
Bit about me, I live in Australia, I have 2 mechanical trades and enjoy fixing electrical problems and love to assist others...... but I'm stuck!

My Ski has 70hrs, it cranks and nearly starts but wont. It was running fine, as in heaps of power and doing everything it should but it has randomly been throwing a MAP sensor code.
The fuel pump runs, it has good fuel in it, battery voltage is good. I pulled apart the TIPS switch and even put a resistor in the harness to mimic a switch in the correct orientation but it won't start.

Any ideas? Am I missing something simple perhaps, I will get a new MAP sensor next week anyway........

Thanks for reading this and appreciate any assistance.

Cheers

Rob

I would have to say the MAP (manifold absolute/atmospheric pressure) sensor is dead and that is why the engine won't start. It is very similar to a MAF (mass air flow) sensor in your cars intake, Its purpose is to sense the amount of air going into the engine. The ECU uses its airflow inputs to determine how much fuel to add. The 4-tec might not work exactly like this, but regardless I don't think it will run without that sensor working. So I would replace that before going further since you're getting a fault code for it.
