Rxp alarm

Hi, am fairly new to PWC ownership. I have an annoying problem with my 2006 rxp as when I connect the battery ( new) the alarm starts beeping without the key inserted. It also sounds like the electric system is booting up. Any ideas will be gratefully received. Thanks bridsy.

Did you remove the wires from the solenoid by chance?

I did change the starter solenoid a month or so ago but this problem has only just come to light. I started the ski earlier then removed the key but the engine didn't cut out as it should.

Test the DESS. Sounds like the internal switch is stuck closed.

Yes, your DESS post is likely bad....

Just had my ski on the diagnostic computer. Showing fault code p1607 which is a fried MPEM. Only solution is a replacement. Going to cost $1100 including labour .....ouch!!!

06 RXP is the switch over year...I cant remember if that one is a one year one model MPEM.

Have just ot my ski back from the shop after getting a new MPEM fitted, so hopefully it will be good to go this weekend, thanks to those who responded
