Seal Carrier?...

Thanks for joining the Seadooforum....

If I understand your question right, the boot you are referring to is part #20. This clamps to your seal carrier, which is part #8. If this is the case, then your seal carrier has seized to your drive shaft. By removing the tension of your clamps, the protection hose is spinning with the seal carrier where it should be tightened to your thru hull fitting.

It sounds like it might be rusted, seizing it. You may be able to get some PB blaster and let it work into the shaft area and eat up the rust. If it doesn't work after a day or so, you can cut the protective hose off the ski in order to troubleshoot or run your motor.

If the motor runs and you can't free the seal carrier from the propulsion shaft, you'll have to cut the protective cover to get at the seal carrier. If your careful, you can cut these components to save your drive shaft. Use some fine emory cloth to shine your shaft backup, then replace the seal carrier and protective boot.

Seal/bearing carrier

The bearing inside the carrier is frozen to the drive shaft. The carrier has a grease fitting. It will probably break loose if you pump some grease into it. The carrier seals are bad and let water into the carrier which rusted the bearing.
DAWG

Grease....?

I formed my opinion on the idea that you said that you just bought them. I felt like if that were the case, there is no idea on how long they have been in this condition. Then, when I re-read your thread, you've had them for 3 months, so now I'm wondering if they ran at some point? If so, then trying to use the PB blaster and grease, might work.

In cases like this, from my personal experience, once the shaft has seized, trying to squirt grease through a zirc fitting is 99% impossible. The grease seems to squeeze out between the fitting and gun. But, I'm with DAWG on this one. It would be a lot less costly than cutting the boot off.

thank you everyone

thanks again for your advice i pumpped some grease thru the fitting and it seems that it had went in the boot doesnot turn any more .. my question is should the fitting on the bearing b turning or is the bearing still stuck thank you for any advice provided

the rubber hose that is clamped to the hull ,this has the bearing carrier and a grease fitting on it.
this should not turn at all when engine is running
the bearing is siezed to the drive shaft
do not run the ski like this, the hose will spin on the hull and mess it up, making more work for your self.
the rear fitting on the bearing carrier should be greased ever time you ride to play it safe.
the front fitting only needs a bit of grease now and then, only a bit!
good luck
