I have a 95gtx and a 96gti I thought I read they have rotary valves but have had a couple people tell me reed valves. Am I correct on rotary valves thanks in advance

Thanks for the info

Next? I have not to familiar with rotary valves can you give me a short break down
reason I'm asking is I am rebuilding carbs and am wondering if I need to worry about the rotary valve

Thanks again

If the engine ever injested water....that may have worn the cover side. If you are experiencing a hard to start when warmed up, the clearance is excessive, and the manifold pressure gets sucked into the adjacent cylinder. Suggest you go to the "how-to" section of this forum and read my write on how to determine the rotary valve clearance in your engine. A worn cover hampers engine performance.
