ride plate questuon 96 xp

Hey guys I took my jet pump off my 96 xp n notice a slight bend I'm the ride plate. I will get pics later today but should I change it or will it effect it that much. How hard of a job is it.

These pics.are when I put the new motor in. I cleaned all that black stuff and replaced grate. But the ride plate don't look.as bent as the pics make it but it def is do would you change it and how hard is it?

well i dont know how much it will affect it but changing it is easy just remove the intake grate, the counter sunk bolts from the ride plate (normally siezed in), remove the speedo drive (very carfully) they are brittle as f**k!! then shove a car jack with wood above and below in back of the ski resting on the ride plate and pushing up on the hull, pump away and it will force it appart, it is only held in with sillicon at this point. putting it back in just consists of a shed load of sillicon on everything! and it will push in by hand.

I doubt that litttle bend would make any difference whatsoever, I'd leave it. Sometimes removing rideplates can be a bear.

its a pretty sucky job and that is such a minor bend...id leave it. It might be causing a slight bit more porpusing but reglueing them sux.

Okay thanks guys Ima leave it this season and maybe tackle it on the off season just thought is ask while I had the jet pump off.

whats you problem with putting them back in? ive done a few and had no problems. not being funny just intrested??
