Replace my wear rings??

So being on this forum for I think over a year or coming up on a year I have learned so much about the "Do's and Don'ts" of my seadoo. BTW thanks for the post about E10 gas wasn't even aware they were putting that sh** in the gas and it could possible be destroying my engine. Ok so I am taking to the Seadoo dealing in my area which is 160 miles away but I drive up there for business all the time. He quoted me $300.00 + parts to replace my wear rings. The question; does that sound fair. Basically $150.00/engine and the cost of two wear rings +/- $60.00. Do I even need to replace them I guess is the question. It only cavitates real bad when I have too many people in the boat. It planes in about 4-7 seconds how fast should it plane or is this acceptable?

a heavy load, and get's up in 4 to 7 secs... sounds OK to me. If you replace your rings... it may not get it up any faster... but you won't rev as high when at top speed. Group k has good info on that.

Oh… BTW… cavitating “real Bad” is when you ease on the throttle… you have the nose at about25 degres in the air at 3500 rpm… then the cavitation starts… and you actually slow down as your engine is revving at 7000. That’s what happened with my sportster first time I took it out. :hurray:
