thinking of rebuilding my carbs myself for the first time on my 2002 951 xp
everyone talks about rejjetting carb when rebuilding it
can someone explain in details i don't understand am i replacing old jet with a new one or installing a bigger jet
and if installing a bigger jet which one to chose and how to chose also whats the story with the springs and pop off pressure wich one to choose to get a nice combo of jets and springs and pop off

and how hard is it to rebuild a carb and rejet ?
i was thinking of doing it on this thread and posting step by step pictures
any input and help would be appreciated
thanks.

I thought we already discussed this? Not sure where you are getting your information.
There is no reason or need to rejet the carbs if you are keeping the ski stock.
If you are removing the stock air cleaner or accelerator pump then you will need to rejet but there is almost no performance increase just doing that.

Rebuilding the carbs is easy just buy genuine Mikuni kits and needle and seats. Reuse your springs as the ones in the kit are wrong.

yea i remember .
i also remember you recommended keeping the acc pump , keeping it all stock
should i clean the flame arrestor with brake cleaner or get a new one ?

thank you for the help
should i check the pop off pressure when rebuilding carbs?

It is a good idea to but if you don't have the equipment just reuse your springs and arm and it should be close.
