re-coving seats on 95 speedster

Has anyone recovered there seats them selfs on a 95 speedster. Just ordered some of the all sport vinyl material. Is this a hard thing to do? What should i be aware of?

Check out my site, there is a lot of info on the install page. Taking the seats out is a bit of a pain, but doable. You should use a walking foot machine to sew the material together, a straight stitch is going to have trouble pulling the material through.

Where did you get your Vinyl? Anyone have a recommendation? Also, I'd like to spray paint the plastic right behind the steering wheel and the cover to the storage. I know a ton of people have done it, any recommendation of spray paint to use?

I bought the vinyl off some web site for $18 a yard but you will be better off buying the pre made covers from kcr357. All the sewing is done all you have to do is staple it down. Check out his web site i would have bought it all from him if i knew about him at the time. I also painted the plastic parts. You can use any spray paint but you have to use a promoter before you paint. I used a promoter and duple color it came out OK. Would have been better if i color sanded after each coat. I do recommend that you use something like a 800 grit sand paper and remove the texture from the parts. This takes some time but will look good in the end. Finish it with a 1000 grit before painting. Also removing the texture you don't have to worry about wax getting in the texture.
