So i know there was a different post on this but i was just wondering, after you rebuild the top end on a motor (787 to be exact) after the break in period are you SUPPOSE to clean them or is it just recommended? And if so how do you clean them? Just wanted to make sure because i dont want my new top end to blow again. Thanks guys

Did you bore the cylinders? If so how much?
You will need to shave down the RAVES

But to answer you question, yes I would clean them. Break cleaner works, I've heard oven cleaner works well too. You just want to get all the sludge and build up off of them

Yes did a full top end rebuild on a 787 the bore was done by full bore they shaved the RAVES and bored the cylinders just not sure the exact specs at the moment

I just cleaned mine. I used oven cleaner and let them sit overnight in separate plastic ziplocks. That got 85% by just wiping them with a paper towel so did a 2nd round, then some carb cleaner and I was done.
