This is my first seadoo. Unit runs great and tops out at 54 mph, but sometimes rave valves are not opening and takes a while to come on-plane. Rave valves have recently been cleaned and replaced bellows... any ideas?

thanks!

Takes a while to come up on plane? Is the engine reving, but the ski isn't going? That's cavitation.

yes engine revs to about 6500. when raves are opening it will rev to 7500 & comes up on plane much quicker....

lou, maybe im crossed up with my terms , but the slipping feeling that your talking about when you come up on plane is not what im getting all the time. feels much better when that happens. almost feels like lack of power when it dosent.(what is cavitation?)

Since I've had sticking RAVE valves in the past, I'm curious how you know if they are opening or not? Thanks.

the slipping isnt when you come on a plane... youre thinking of when a clutch DOESNT slip

think of when you do a burnout in a car... you floor the gas but you dont go anywhere cause the wheels are just spinning in place. the equivalent of that with boats is "cavitation". It means your impeller is spinning, but theres air getting in somewhere so the impeller is not displacing water, which means your boat isnt accelerating correctly

so are you guys saying that 6500 rpm is the norm when coming out of the hole or should it turn closer to 7500 rpm ???? thanks
