I just switched over my 1996 gsx to pre mix, and while i was at it I changed the oil lines goin to and from the gearbox. I put it all back together and took it for a test drive and when gave it WOT it sounded like the driveshaft went out (high pitch winding noise). I towed it back and looked inside and noticed I forgot to hook up the big black hose that connects the exhaust together in the back of the machine. I hooked it back up and decided to start it again, it started right up, and took off, and has ran great since. I only drove it for about 10 min because I was a little nervous that I was gonna blow the thing up. Would the exhaust cause the machine to do that? Or should I look further into it?

Thanks in advance.

An open exhaust will make the engine sound strange... and normally will shut it off. (displaces the O2) BUT... if you have something that sounds like a stripped gear... I would look into it.

Always do the pre-launch things we talk about here. Open seat, look smell touch, check water separator, back in, start, look for leaks.
