questions with my seadoo gsx? advice and idea

i have a 98 seadoo gsx limited its purple and red i am trying to take parts off to get painted but the hood i had trouble getting gauges out any tricks to get out smoothly? also i posted this before and i need to take the whole choke cable out to take the piece under the handle bar off does anyone know how hard that is? any advice would be great i would just order everything in black but cant find it been searching ebay, about the trim that goes around seadoo i will either leave it purple or people have said to cover it in hydroturf and it looks good and ideas or advice would be great
 
id just get the bumpers and paint the rest ...also id go with a mirrorless hood painted black ...mabybe some umi steering ...

okay do yall think it will look better with the hood with no mirrors? and were can i find one that will fit my ski? also i was taking it off to get pianted and the gauges are really hard to get off any ideas? what is umi steering? thanks
 
i have a mirrorless hood that could be painted and also have the steering setup id sell for the right price ...wd40 between the ruvver seal and the gauge and pop out with screw driver

How much would you sell thehood for, and you sure it will fit on mine, also I startedto take off the bottom plastic under the handlebar and the choke cable is trouble to get off I heard ya have to unhook from engine is that true? Is that really hard to do or do you know thanks for info man.
 
Choke cable

If it is setup like my 97 gsx the choke cable is connected to the mag carb. Simply open the choke at the carb and it will have a cable ran thru a metal groove (part that moves on the outside of the carb in conjunction with the butterfly inside the carb). The cable has a small metal pin at the end of it and will slide thru a slot on the bottom part of the metal that has the groove in it. Hope this helps and isn't too confusing.
