I sent this to Mystik Lubes and will post the response, when/if I get one.

Is the Mystik JT4 synthetic 100% compatible with Seadoo XP-S synthetic and synthetic blends?

I plan on starting to use the JT4 in my premix and oil injection system and want to make sure mixing it with the XP-S oil will not cause a chemical reaction leading to congealing or anything else that may damage my engine.

Thanks in advance.

Scott

so... put a couple oz of each in a cup with a lid... shake it up, and check it after a couple days.

A clear cup would be best, so you can see if the layers separate after it's been sitting, or if there are any anomalies floating in the mix.

I did that with the synthetic and mineral oils from BRP and after a week, I didn't see any clumps forming. I KNOW they will, but they didn't for some reason. Not sure if you need to add a hot engine bay or constant agitation or what.

I have almost a full tank of XP-S in the boat now. I guess I can pull a half cup out and add a half cup of Mystik and set it in the engine bay and check it after I burn off a tank of gas.

From the FAQ section at http://www.mystiklubricants.com/AskTheExpert/ask_the_experts_faqs.jsp

4) Is it compatible with OEM brands? Ok to mix?

Yes, Mystik JT-4 Synthetic 2-Cycle Snowmobile Oil is recommended wherever API TC and JASO FC, FD low ash, two-cycle oils are specified. Mystik JT-4 is compatible with and recommended as a replacement for mineral and synthetic manufacturer branded air cooled 2-cycle engine oil. To achieve optimum performance from the Mystik product, mixing of lubricants is discouraged. Bold Italics added by me.

5) Does JT-4 Synthetic 2-Cycle Snowmobile Oil have a JASO FD Certification Number? What is it?

Mystik Lubricants guarantees FD performance. Once the JASO certification process is completed, JASO Certification Numbers 001MYS077 will appear on Mystik JT-4 Synthetic 2-Cycle Snowmobile Oil.

6) Will my OEM engine warranty be affected with the use of this oil?

No, manufacturer’s warranties are tied to oil quality. Your owner’s manual or dealer can point out the type and quality of 2- cycle engine oil needed for your unit. Look for low ash, air cooled, API TC, JASO FC or FD and be assured Mystik JT-4 Synthetic 2-Cycle oil will qualify under these specifications.

7) Is this a "low ash" or "ashless" oil?

Mystik JT-4 Synthetic 2-Cycle Snowmobile is classified as low ash, air-cooled, synthetic, 2-cycle engine oil.

8) Why is it priced so much less than the OEM oil?

We cannot address how other companies approach their pricing. For Mystik JT-4, we strive to provide the best performance at a price that provides a great value.

9) Is this oil suitable for use in all 2-cycle applications?

No, Mystik JT-4 Synthetic 2-Cycle Snowmobile is recommended for use in 2-cycle engine applications requiring API TC, JASO FC and JASO FD quality oil. It is not recommended for use in outboard marine engines or applications calling for NMMA TC-W3.

I purchased a case of jt-4 4 gal, from mystik $120 to my door.I did what dr honda suggested I mixed xps with mystik. It blended together, ugly color because mystik is purple, but seems ok.I will try and run as much of the xps out first. I am on vacation this week on the outer banks with the family and my two sea- doos . By the way a great jet ski place. I will add the mystik and let you know Rrm

Just got this back...

Dear Scott,

Thank you for contacting Mystik Lubricants.

Mystik JT-4 Synthetic 2-Cycle Personal Watercraft Engine Oil can be used
with confidence in SeaDoo applications that require the use of Synthetic
XP-S oil.

To take full advantage of the performance enhancements of the synthetic
Mystik JT-4 Oil it is advise to limit the mixing ratio to less than 5% if
possible. When mixing larger ratios you have actually created a third type
of oil mixture that has not been tested for optimum performance. Mixing of
small amounts should not be an issue.

Mystik products can be purchased on-line and delivered to your home or
office at: www.Mystiklubes.com - tab to "Buy Mystik" - Again, we appreciate
your interest in Mystik Lubricants.

Then he attached a PDF Product Information sheet with the chemical properties, flash points, etc. and a descripton of the oil. I can email that to anyone interested. Unless there is a way to post it on here.

Seems he is more concerned with the lubricating properties of the mixed oil, more so than it clumping and clogging the oil filters and systems.

I can buy it locally at Academy stores for $19 a gallon. Have already bought one, and will be using this from now on.

I will just burn as much out of the tank, or maybe drain it and use the XP-S as premix, then top off the tank with Mystik.

I wish I had a local retailer. By the time you aff shipping it is about the same as the Quicksilver from walmart. IS this full synthetic?

Quicksilver is 38. I just used the mystik site to find a distributor 20 minutes from me. They dont have it, but can get it. He said they can only get it in 12 qt cases for 120. Makes it same price as quicksilver really. Wish I had a store around like you.

I was curious how much the 4 gallons would be with shipping. thanks!!! Almost $40 cheaper than the quicksilver and shipped to my door. Might have to check it out.

Try to order it from Academy.com

Might be cheaper than from Mystik. Academy is where I buy mine locally.

EDIT--Nevermind, they don't have it listed on their website.
