I know this will be obvious to most users, But I recently purchased a 1990 SP, and apparently a previous owner had decided to start a trend of removing every freaking decal from the boat. My question is Which way is fuel normally on, and which way is reserve. I know center is off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Fuel Selector Valve

Left is main, right is reserve, middle is off. Hope this helps.

Actually on my 95 clockwise is main, anti-clockwise is reserve, the halfway point is off - my handle turns 180 degrees if this help on the older one? My 97 boat works the same way.

Well, I'm still stumped, Got two equal but opposite responses. Can anybody help me figure this out for an exact 1990 year? Thanks for the help so far guys.

They are actually the same answer, my ski off us up center so left is main rt is reserve.

The older selectors off is center down, so clockwise is left of center, counterclockwise is to the right.

So looking at the selector it would be like this:

Main-----off-----Reserve

Actually, thanks to all replies. I have found in the shop manual an exploded view for factory decals that tells me on is right, center as I knew off, and left is reserve. It actually explains why when I ran low on fuel, that it sucked a sh*t load of varnish from the fuel tank, had no idea the thing guzzeled almost 4 gallons of fuel an hour @wot. I also realized I was operating on reserve the full time till I almost ran out. Guess I should've exhausted my already available resources before asking questions. Again. thanks to all again who've read and replied. hopefully i can help someone someday as I learn about these machines.

In my opinion it doesn't matter. just loosen the hose clamp on the top of the fuel tank. The longer fuel pickup is the reserve. Follow it up to the fuel valve and see what side it is. Then you know which one is reserve. The shorter fuel pick up is the "on".....pretty easy really. So it doesn't matter which side you turn it to. But if you must have it one way or the other just switch the lines....
