Needed a way to squeeze my Doo into the garage with my car.
No way to make it fit while still on the trailer.
Made me a cart based on photos from another forum.
Its a tight fit, but my babies are in the dry (except for my other car and my truck:( )
Its not completely winterized yet, just in case we have a warm spell before winter!

Carts

Nice cart. Looks pretty sturdy! The combination of wood and pvc seems to work well. I have made wood carts for my skis over the years and usually sell them with the ski. Most of mine have been for stand ups. I have no more than $50 plus tax in materials. The wheels costing the most. Ya just have to use hard plastic wheels than the softer ones. After a while they tend to wear out. A few years ago, useing cheaper grade pvc I had a bad problem. We slid the ski on and it collapsed to the ground. So thats when I went to useing just wood. My hx was a little more of a challange, because of the weight.I made a few changes and it has worked well. How much did you end up spending in materials?

Around $90 total I think (more than I wanted to spend, but it works great!).
Got the 4" casters on sale at Harbor Freight for $4.50 each.
Around $50 in pvc.
$20 in wood and other materials.
I also added threaded rod with fender washers inside the cross brace for a little added strength.

Used 3" PVC cut to two 5' sections and two 18" sections.
4 3" PVC elbows w/ one end male and the other female.
4 3" PVC t-joints.
3 2x6 boards.
4 4" casters.
I also used threaded rod with fender washers throught the cross sections for extra support.

I strapped the cart to the trailer and wiggled the ski while pulling.
Once the ski hits the PVC, it slided really easily.
Transferred it by myself.

Here is where I got the idea and basic design from (some one attached a video with a hint on sliding the ski off):

just curious.. I am new here.

How do you get it on the stand from the trailer? lol

I lifted mine with a few buddies onto something like that to wax/repair the bottom of the hull...it wasn't too heavy. The idea of sliding it is very good....the only problem was that the cart I was putting it on was taller than the trailer cause I needed access to the bottom of the hull.
