Hi all I Am having an acceleration problem with my ski. I just did a motor switch to a bigger body and had it running great. Now I am having issues with acceleration. The ski will start to gain speed then slow down and won't hit higher speeds. It is driving me crazy. I have replaced all plastic and or rubber lines, spark plugs, checked the wear ring, solenoid, checked compression, and mpem. The only thing that I have done to it is I added reverse but when i took it out right after installation it was running fine. I am so confused. I did a full check and rehaul or the motor and starter right before I switched it over and the motor was running great in my old ski. I had this problem before I replaced everything and took it and had over 600 dollars of work done to it. Hopefully it is something stupid that just needs to be adjusted because of the transfer. If any one has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

The first thing to figure it out is whether it's the power going into the pump or the power coming out of the pump. Does the engine maintain RPMs or not?

Sounds like you did everything but carbs. When you did the fuel lines you should have clean/rebuilt them. Do that and bet that's your problem.

I did have the carbs rebuilt when it went to the shop. That was part of the work they did and the wear ring. The starter was also rebuilt. This is why I am so confused. It starts to gain speed then it just feels like it holds back and wont go any faster. I had it running great and it was running at higher speeds and now all of a sudden it just isn't running the same. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

What's the ski again?

Pull the red wire on the rectifier, it could be bad. Lou had the same problem, double check with him that it is the rectifier. he had bogging, pulled the red wire and was fine, so it needed replacing. without that attached your battery won't charge tho.
