Problem with a SEADOO RXT / don't want to power up

Hello,

First of all, i'm sorry for my english but i'm french and i come here because I don't find the solution in France !

My Name is Willy and I Have a seadoo rxt
In France it is the beginning of the winter but the last weekend the weather was so good i wanted to have some fun with my PWC

The problem is :

I connect the battery ( I don't let it connected when I don't use it during a long time)
I put My DESS but nothing appeared... no sound, no light... NOTHING !!

I check the battery: OK
I check the fuses: OK
I check all connector: OK

I don't understand why there is nothing starting when I put my DESS....

Can you help me please ??

Did you actually charged the battery? When was the last time you used it? What year is your ski?

I am French-speaking too but from Quebec Province.

I would load test the battery.

But for a quick test, you can jump the starter solenoid. If it cranks, then the battery, cables, cable connections, and starter are good.

If it does not crank, then it is one of the items I listed..

My ski is a seadoo rxt 215 of 2005
The batterie is ok and i try with a car battery
I have started the ski there is two week with no probleme

Coastiejoe. , where is this solenoid? I have a red relay for the starter and if i put a wire between the two red cable the starter is working

Just a question, if the dess key or the dess post is out of order, is it possible to have this troubleshoot

Google the workshop manual for your pwc. Test the Dess post

Follow the red wire from the battery. It will go to the starter solenoid. Jump it with a screwdriver and see if it cranks.

Ok I see this solenoid and i have done what you tell to me and it is working.

I make some new test today and I think the problem is on the post DESS. I have found some documentation about this parts and how to test it. I'm going to test it tommorrow. But If I remember, tell me if I'm wrong, but without the DESS Key, if i push the start button, the main screen must power up and display something?

got the right key?

Take a pencil(le crayon)...eraser. Clean the post and the key with it and try to start again.

Ah oui, il arrive de temps en temps que le contact soit oxydé. En le frottant avec une efface de crayon à mine, cela règle quelquefois des problèmes de contact.

Translation: Yes, it happens once in a while that a contact gets oxidized. Take a pencil and rub the contact with it. Sometimes, it fixes contact issues.

Note: my car detachable radio front has the same problem, a good rub and it is fixed...

Tazou, I had the exact same problem with one of my skis. I disconnected both of the connectors on the MPEM and sprayed them with Deoxit. Problem solved. I noticed your comment about your plan to jump start your ski with a car battery. The manual warns owners about doing that as it may damage the MPEM and or ECU.

Did you get this figured out? Check for a loose relay in small fuse box. I just had the same problem, ski had no power at all and battery tested out fine.
