Steveclv, your opinion is valued here. There are a lot of members with expertise in different areas on this forum. This forum is about helping others from spending needlessly at the seadoo dealer. When it comes to Oil issues or other issues that have a specific recommendation, it is recommended you follow it. All the staff and moderators here stand behind recommendations made by seadoo. There are other alternatives to the recommendations, and the members can chose which direction to go on their own. This is a "seadoo forum" and not a "do what you want " forum. It isn't sponsored by seadoo, and the moderators here aren't on the payroll for helping out or giving advise. We are volunteers here just trying to give out correct information as stated by seadoo. We use the manuals for the same advise for spark heat range or timing specs, as recommended by seadoo. You are welcome to set your timing or use what ever spark plug you want, or any oil you choose. The staff can only use what's recommended as a base mark. That is the standard structure we use, based on what the manufacturer recommends. We can back up any advise we give, as it's in the manual. Who's to say the head bolt torque is correct in the manual...if asked we give the torque spec value, as it's recommended in the manual, and that's our base line. There might be other alternatives, and if asked we will give our "personal opinions" too from experience, but keep in mind we won't veer far away from the recomended useage stated in the manual.
