Hello all again, it's your fav noobie.... J/K but seriously I do have a question regarding the difference in revs between engines. I have read other threads on here but am a little confused still (not hard to do). Not sure if I should synch or adjust the throttle cable or mess with the idle screw. I'm not much of a mechanic and usually worried I will break something. I am also new to boating but did have the boat inspected by a mechanic, 145 across the board on compression check. The boat really gets up and goes it just about 500 rpm diff. I have to pull the shifter/throttle assembly out again due to port lever being lose and not staying where put. I apologize for rehashing this type of thread, I just got more confused after reading so many them and opening up my shop manual. Any help will be paid in gold.....that's not true i can only pay in kindness and thanks. Or if you come to TN I will get the first round. Thanks guys!

Dont mess with the cables. The engines almost never run exactly the same RPM. (That's why they give you 2 throttles, and not just one) Also, on some boats... they actually run 2 different impellers. One helps you get out of the hole, and one gives you a better top end. SO... if that's how your boat is set up... at cruse, you may have 2 different RPM's.

If you don't feel the boat pulling to the left or right... then it's normal.

Done deal, I will let it be. I changed the spark plug in both engines today and it seemed to bring them closer. Or I am just crazy but either way I will take your advice. Thanks for your help and have a blessed Easter!

How off are the levers when making both engines rev the same at say 6,000 RPMs? They might not be identical, but it should be somewhat close (It should be easy to synch single handed)

There are ways to adjust, but this is a case were close enough is great, as the best you can do is to get them in synch at one RPM, (Say 6,000) but the others will be off as the engines are not 100% identical.

If it's anywhere near close, you are set.

They are close when you get up to 4500. Like almost identical. I was just worried after reading so much that could be wrong. It's about 300 to 500 separation at idle but gets closer when climbing up around 4500. I will definitely just let them be after all of you guys help! Thanks!
