My problem is engine starts but no power or ability to rev .I've gone through my fuel circuit and carbs several times . The engine has been able to rev high after one of my attempts at cleaning fuel lines/carbs/fliters/fuel selector valve etc. but after sitting a while and upon restart the problem re-appears .

When I pressurize fuel return line to tank it is dificult but fuel eventually does flow into MAG carb inlet line . Also their was a sputtering noise of air coming out of the check valve above storage compartment that I thought only lets air in . One more thing , There is a vacuum building up in my tank when the engine runs(no rev ability) .

Do I have a problem with my check valve?

TIA-down for a while:confused:

Sounds like you have either a blocked vent hose, or a stuck vent valve. Try for testing, pulling the vent hose loose from the vent. You also could, when the ski is on the trailer, loosen the gas cap.

Thanks for the reply .
I tried removing fuel line for t-connect check valves from fuel baffle and seeing if it made things better but it still will just idle and not give full revs

Thoroughly go over all of your fuel lines and make sure each are connected to the proper nipple on the baffle. You may have gotten one crossed while doing your attempts at "cleaning fuel lines/carbs/fliters/fuel selector valve etc."

Also, make sure that the o-ring is still in your water separator/filter.

I've checked the connections of the fuel lines for correct positions on fuel baffle , fuel selector and checked the fuel filter above tank .
It will sometimes run correct after checking/taking apart but when I shut off and restart I can't get high revs and there is a vacuum in my fuel tank .

Vacuum

If you loosen the gas cap, I can't see any why that you could be getting a vacuum.

Try this, get a 5-6' piece of hose, attach it directly to the mag. carb. and stick the other end in a gas can, like a lawn mower can.

Do you still have the same symptoms?

Lou

If the check valve/vent gets clogged (from insects) it will create a vacuum in the tank, but like Lou said, if you remove the gas cap that would eliminate that as a problem. See if it runs alright without the gas cap. If so, remove vent check valve and blast with compressed air.

Thanks for the replies . I've been away this past week and didn't have a chance to work on my Seadoo until now .
I tried to start w/gas cap removed and it cranked on the first try without choke , however , after I gave it a few high revs it cut off . I tried to start again but it wouldn't catch without choke this time and wouldn't rev high . Eventually it cut off again .
I'm beginnig to think it's a carb problem . These are the original 1995 Mikuni carbs and all I did was clean them by spraying WD40 in filter orfices and on the other sides spraying the high and low jets .
My question is do I need to clean the carbs better or rebuild them ? I'd really like a quick fix for the rest of this summer .

ps I know they're bad but I'm still using the gray lines after cleaning them .

I forgot to mention but I also bypassed the fuel selector valve and main fuel filter by hooking carb inlet hose to reserve nipple on top of fuel baffle .
Still had same problem , at first it would rev high then after restart bogs down with only low rpms even though WOT(linkage appears to be fine).

Grey Fuel Lines?

Probably should have asked this sooner. Do you still have the grey tempo gas lines?

Lou

Yes I still have gray fuel lines . I'm going to go to the auto store and get 20 feet of new 1/4" fuel line . I'll also try cleaning the carbs again with different carb cleaner .
