I'm going to order the wear rings, as soon as I can find them, but are these still in okay shape? How about the props - theres some dings but, wow, they are pretty expensive. I had a lot of cavitation and my first guess was the wear rings, now pulling them I don't know, maybe something else?

They look pretty good, but the rust in the splines isn't.

If that was mine... I would just file the sharp edges off the impeller, and reinstall it. (and grease the splines)

that's some good news... means I've got an issue somewhere else (bad caviation), I think the driveline seals, but back to the impeller - it rotates great, but after draining the oil, there is a bit of play forward and backward (more than 1/8") I wouldn't think this is normal but I've never done this before.

I agree with the other response; I too would file the edges of the impeller. As for the wear "rings," there is just one, so that would be singular wear "ring." The plastic ring that your impeller is coming so close to in the pictures is your wear ring. This is made to wear when you suck debris in with the impeller, so that you don't damage the impeller. Once you get some large cracks, etc., in your wear ring, you will get cavitation and will need to replace the wear ring.

Be sure to replace the drive shaft boot when you reinstall the pump. I'll bet yours is missing the grease washed out, that's why the splines are rusty.
