While looking at a car i wanted to buy I saw a random very old (mid 90s) ski neglected. Its on a trailer and the guy wants $100 for it. He said the hull got flooded in hurricane Sandy and was drained and has been sitting ever since. What should my first course of action be to attempt to save this thing. If it doesnt work i can still sell the trailer and get my money back so im not that worried.

Look at my 98spx resto thread. That came from the same area. It will give you a good idea. Congrats on the purchase.

Awesome thanks, I havent even gotten this thing open yet so I have no clue what im working with. Good reference

Remove the spark plugs and see if you can turn it over by hand using the PTO (Power Take Off). Which is basically the output shaft of the engine. If so, then we can get deeper into what to do. If not, you will likely need an engine.

I agree, $100 for almost any model in almost any condition is a no brainer. with more details we can certainly provide more input as to the next course of action.

Easy to source, price can go from $700 to $1200+ depending on the model.
