So I bought a Perko disconnect from a forum member, I can't find any of the messages to give his name but if he reads this maybe he can chime in aswell. I was having an issue with the batteries draining down and it ended up being the bilige pump. But I want to put this disconnect on anyways just for the safety of the batteries. So my dad and I are trying to hook this up and the Perko only has two posts on it....one common and then the other is for the ground I presume.....well as soon as we tried to hook it up something started humming up at the dash. I hopped online and do a little research and it appears I need the Perko that has 3 posts for dual batteries. I could have sworn I said I have twins so I would have thought he would have sold this knowing it would have worked with my setup....is there anyway I can use the Perko I have now or do I need to the the 3 post one? Thanks....and if I can't use this does anyone want it? I paid 20.00 shipped to my door, I'll sell it for the same. Here is a pic of what I found online and I don't see with the one I have now how it will ever work.

Perko Disconnect HELP

I have a 2008 speedster with twin 155hp engines, and it only has 1 battery as that is how it is wired from seadoo. The 2 post shut off is exactly that for 1 battery. I hope you didn't fry the mpem by running power in the ground wire... Most all battery switches only switch the power. For 2 batteries you need the switch shown so you can switch between each or use both batteries.

F, me......FWIW, we hooked everything back up like it should and they fired up.....I am assuming everything is fine if it did that. Thanks again Karl for your expertise. This one will be for sale and I am going to run to an auto place to see if they have anything there since diesel trucks have to batteries.
Ok .it seems you missed the bullet. If it fired back up your ok...I see alot of members fry their mpem from reverse battery leads or too much power to the mpem...
Is there a West Marine near by or US boat...even Walmarts might have a switch at a good price... They will have a switch made for marine use. It might be a tad bit more money, but it will work better in a wet conition.

You can use the switch you have if you wire both battery positives to the one post. This will give you a switch to disconnect the batteries from the system, but not a way to isolate the batteries from eachother. You'd wire both battery positives to one post, and the other would be to the engine's positive. There is no ground connection on this switch
Where would you want to isolate just one battery? If you're floating somewhere and using the radio or things, it's sometimes nice to do it on one battery so you know you still have a fully charged battery that you can start the engines with.
But as Karl said, you could easily get a two battery selector that would work.

Yea I am headn to West Marine in about 2 hours, they only had one left and they are holding it for me. I looked at walmart and called all the local auto places and they didn' have any. I am just going to post the one I have up on EBAY and hope to get atleast half of what I paid for it.
In reference to the drawing that is posted in the 1st post....since I have two engines where do I put the two positives coming out of the computer box? Do I put BOTH cables on the common "from the computer box" and then run the one + from battery one to #1 on the switch, and then the other + from battery #2 to the switch?
I am the one who sold it to you. I really did not know you had 2 batteries already or I would not have mentioned it. Thats the reason I got rid of it. I upgraded and added a 2nd battery. I even said that is why I was getting rid of it, I needed one for 2 batteries. Sorry it didnt work for ya.
