Perforated insert in jet pump, and outlet pisser what does it do

Hi to all

had to pull of the jet pump to repair the impellor.

I notice in the housing there is a perforated insert that leads to a gallery that runs up to the front of the jet pump housing. What does it do? Does it aid the cooling system in any way? Are the 2 pissres in the nozzle to outlet for this water?

OK, found the two pissers are for clearing the bilge
