You might want to remove the gear shift / throttle selector and see what you disturbed.

yea i did pull it back out several times.. nothing is binding.. it looks ok to me.. what should i be looking for as far as something that would hold it up like that?? if i look at the pump the gate does not cover the pump completely in neutral.. there is like inch or so exposed on the bottom.. could it be the ski-speed lever???

In neutral, the pump will be open a little. The gate is for reverse, so if it's all the way down... it's in reverse.

Sounds like the adjustment is right. Pull the levers, and look at the lock-out. There is a pin to keep it from going into the reverse if the throttle is up. It sounds like it's just not moving back and forth. (probably needs a little lube)

I had mine out and the cable came off the handle for the reve. Mine did the same thing, good thing I take a set of tools out with me so I pulled the levers and fixed it right then.

So just got home and checked it out.cable is still connected. Just wanted to check..reverse gate is down all the way covering the pump in reverse. Like 2 inch of bottom of pump exposed in neutral and all the way up in forward???
