I saw some dudes at the lake yesterday, with some Doos, with 4-stroke motors, and they had all their clothes on, and riding!:drool5::drool5:

Now, they had rubber boots on, but they were riding around!

My ski is pretty stable. I think I could doo this too!

So, who rides fully dressed?

(with life jacket, of course!)

I used to ride in the nude, untill the cops stopped me and my Hooter's girl friend, and I didn't have any pockets to hold my registration, so I got a ticket...:ack:  :)

The first day I got my doo I rode for a few minst fully dressed...it was freezing out and raining...I even put a jacket on over my life jacket!!

You Got To be Kidding!

Bad enough that most riders sit down when they ride, but dressed! You might as well ask if they sit when they go pee. lol So how many of you guys do that? I'll stop before I get beat up and told that this is only a sit down forum.
All in fun and bring it on!!!!:ack:

When its nice and warm out I just wear shorts and PFD. However in the fall it can get pretty cool up here so I had on a sweater and track pants and did my best to stay dry, tho when a couple large boats went across the lake it was hard.. couldnt resist the wake.. My plan is to get a wetsuit over the winter.

I'm from the old school of Jet Skis...the stand up type. Water craft to me is a challenging sport of skill...and endurance of athletes. I would ride for 10 gallons of fuel before taking a break when I was racing...I don't sit down when I water ski either...just something wrong with that. If I was gonna be lazy and sit down I would get a boat ...so I did....it seats 6 and clears 8' waves at 60mph. I stopped racing stand ups at age 35...I also rode in December with a dry suit up till the lake froze over and I couldn't break the ice...back in Upstate N.Y.

Stand Up

Carl, glad to see there are still some stand up guys out there! I started on a kawi 400 years ago and have seen the industry change over the years. I have a number of people ask if they still make'em(stand ups). Nice to see that Yamaha & Kawasaki( Polaris?) are still in it. You still hit the waves at Manasota? Not much to offer, except when a hurricane goes by. I grew up on the northern end of the key, back in the late 60's and 70's. You live bayside or beachside? Anyway, I had been rideing my 91 550 for a number of years and then a friend introduced me to a yamaha fx-1. 550 on steriods! whoa! Great freestyle ride. Then decided to buy the hx.I am beginning to enjoy this doo. But it really lacks the crack on the throttle. Really going to work on the power band this winter. Been looking at Group K for performance upgrades. I like what Klemm does, he seems to be able to extract power (sleeper kits)without sacrificing other issues to make a ski go faster.

Getting dumped!

I rode fully dressed only one time. I had just finished repairs on a Yamahammer for a customer. I put it in at my bulkhead, slid it into the water to check for leaks.

With the motor running, I wanted to see how the carb would respond, so I got on. I rode to the end of the canal WOT but after slowing down to make my turn at idle, I rolled it over. Man, I had my wallet and everything on me. I was soaked, went all the way under! I was just glad I didn't have my cell phone on me.

Yeah, I'm smart enough to fix one, just not smart enough not to ride one when you got your clothes on!...............

I wear the suit, boots and lid. All the time. (see avatar)The last time I rode no Helmet I ended up in Casualty with a split head. And the time before that a fractured cheek bone. Pulled people outa the water that had klnocked themselves out. So helmet all day now, even in the summer.
I dont fall off as much as the stand up brigade so I wear 3+2 suit all winter.
Might start and wear a kneck gaurd now also.

They stopped you because they wanted to look at your GF's hooters. If you were alone, they might decide they don't want to stop you. Imagine if they have to frisk you.

Not at a public toilet I don't. I don't even let my butt touch the seat when I poop at a public toilet. My own toilet I will sit down and pee while I read a newspaper or magazine.

Not a good image...

That's almost too much information for me....

Somehow, I think the R&D dpt at BRP have some nice dry suits, to go testing the doos, in all weather. Anybody have a description of their units? Any "All weather" riders from Canada, or Alaska?

Somehow, I think I could learn something from them, although I am not sure what!

Nate

PS, I am glad somebody besides me found how to not waste the time sitting on the john!

North end of the key being Longboat or Siesta? How about the weekend fires on the south end of Lido?, went back on vacation after college and they had civilized it.
