oil pump-cone

2001 sportster-I was changing the oil as per a great thread I read.It came with pictures and full details. BUT when I turned the cone upside down the PUSHER fell out.In the cone there is a spring and plastic holder(both still in place) but I am not quite sure about the pusher it looks like it can only go in one way BUT I don't want to make a mistake .I am new to this type of boat I have a manual but it shows a different type of pusher.Does the flat side of the pusher go toward the top,fill hole or to the bottom, toward the spring?
Any help would be GREAT.I also read that 3 piece pushers sometime need to be held in place with a pencil down through the fill hole? Thanks E.T.

Place the flat side in front of the slider tab.

There should be a flat tab looking deal, on the cone....the little flat spot on the pusher faces it
