Folks,

Where would one buy proper oil line tubing? I checked couple of automotive stores but no luck so far... Any advice?

Thanks.

Or a nice size lawn mower shop.....these are used in weed whackers. 3/32 size. In yellow/gold color, try not to get a dark color as you want to see the oil running through the lines.

I think Lou said he bought some at an ACE hardware.

You can get it from McMaster Carr also. Reasonable price, and shipping... but they have a 10' min length. If you get it at a hobby shop, they sell it by the foot. BUT... don't get Si hose for Glow Fuel. You need Tygon for gas.

I never liked McMaster, or Grainger. I know they cater to the "Industrial" market... but their prices sucked. BUT... about 5~6 years ago... McMaster pulled prices into the "Normal" range, so I started to use them more. BUT... the thing I like (at least for my shop) If I get an order in before about 3:30 PM... I will have it the next day with my UPS drop!!! So... I get overnight service, and only pay regular Ground prices.

Doc if you really want a scare, take a look at Boltsdepot.com wow their shipping is out of control... Their product prices are great if you buy quantity. I once paid more for shipping than what the product cost was... now I just wait to fill a decent sized order...

McMaster is quick and right here in NJ, so it works...

I use Mc Master-Carr all the time( free next day shipping). Grainger is the worst for pricing and don't stock much. Mc Master and Fastenal will negotiate on prices. Fastenal is usually 25 cents on the dollar or less on hardware and 20/40% off on tools and supplies but we use about 2.5 - 3 million annually. If I need bolts or nuts etc. right now the local ACE hardware can't be beat. They maybe a little more on price but stock every size in carbon, stainless, alum, plastic
and brass. All grades as well as the different head types.

470: My local hardware shops SUCK... and I even have a local "Bolt House" that will negotiate... but it's the same thing I've told my Grainger Rep... when I'm prototyping a new part... I don't want to negotiate a price, because at that stage, I don't know what the volumes will be. My Grainger rep has always met my pricing... but most of the time, he has to give me 50% the book price to be the same as some of my suppliers.

Pail Rider: I use Bolt Depot for most of my stainless. They have dropped the ball on more than one occasion, but one phone call will get it straightened out. The reason I keep using them is because they do have good customer service, and when I order from them... my stuff normally get's drop shipped from a place called Star Stainless (they make the bolts) and they are only about 30 mi from my shop.
