Well first Ill say good morning now that summer is here Im back on the lake. Im doing the poor mans seal job on the oil tank and have new grommets. Looking at the oil level sensor I assume the pod if you will at the base is fixed and internally has a small float of some sort. When the level gets low enough then you get a light. In other words it does not slide up and down the center tub. Also the old grommet is not very flexible probably best to cut it off and stretch the new on considering the base section could get damaged with a lot of tugging Etc.
