I am learning that folks on here are experts!

Just bought my first SeaDoo - 1999 GTX Limited. Based on the previous owner, I am guessing that it had very little maintenance on it. 130 Hours. I thought I would quickly replace the oil filter. The manual was no help for me.

The filter appears to be buried under the reservoir tanks. It would seem that I have to reach underneath the tanks and replace the filter "blind"? The experts on this forum are probably laughing - I may have to get used to working that way for a lot of things I end up doing on this machine?!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Ya alot of things you will do will be blind lol, mine is kinda in the open, but you have the 951 motor right. Things are probly packed a little different. If so you will have to do it blind or empty oil tank and pull the plug out replace filter and POP it back in.

Its down there between the tanks and the motor. Hard to see with that massive 951 pipe in the way...lol

Good to replace, but unless the guy was an idiot not much junk gets into the oil tank/filter. I'd wait till the pipe comes off for something.

Thanks guys! I muscled through it and got it in. It was zip tied to the bottom. Once I cut that loose I had enough slack to move it a few inches.

I've replaced this on my 98 LTD (same ski) it's not that bad, just make sure oil gets to the engine (bleed the air out) so u don't run lean on oil...
