I bought an OEM carb kit for my carb (94 SPI) and installed it about 2-3 weeks ago, still couldn't get it to start so I was going to do all the pressure checks and what not on it and just finally got around to opening it tonight. take the diaphragm out and it is warped, and now I cant get it to seat properly to put the cover back on, I am attaching two pics to show it.
Anyone else have this happen to them?

It's wet with fuel. Not a big deal.

When it's clamped in the carb body... it will be flat. BUT... let it dry out... and it will go back in.

It does shake you up when you see that, mine were the same when I pulled my carbs back apart to do the tests, they were fine when I put them back together.

If you want to see them melt, place them in acetone.

I'm wondering why they look so wet, unless they have oil on them, they should dry pretty quickly. They do look pretty swollen, but should shrink back once they dry out.

Is there some kind of solvent in your fuel?

Hmm, well that is reassuring. I just took it out shortly before those pictures so yes it still has some gas/oil on it. I didn't think to look at it this morning before I left for work but I'm hoping now it is back to normal when I get home this afternoon.

As far as any additives, I don't have any just gas and oil.

Love this forum and thank you guys! Hopefully when I get home it will be back to normal and ready to install!

it'll take about a day and a half to dry out and go back to normal. you can massage them into the grooves and pop the plates on even when they're like that.

what issues are you having that caused you to open them back up?
