My 96 GSX is running great but I siphoned out the oil because I changed brands. I put in a gallon of new oil. I can see the crankcase supply and return lines and the oil injector line are full. But when i open the bleed valve expecting oil to run out, nothing happens. I have a cup sitting beneath the oil pump and a drop of oil runs down the oil pump and goes in there maybe every 10 seconds. I have the ski sitting on a ramp on the shore, does it have to be level for oil to come out the bleed valve?

Also, manual says to check the 2 lines going to the manifold to be sure they are full of oil, I assume these are the 2 black rubber lines about 3/16 in diameter but I don't see from looking how they connect. How do I verify these lines have oil or do I take the approach of runnign the ski at idle and opening the injector manually?

I drained the oil by sticking a oil siphon hose down the crankcase supply line as far as it would go. With the ski on the ramp instead of level is there any concern that there is alot of oil laying in the back of the crankcase that I didnt get? I didnt bother to drain the injector line figuring what is in there will just burn off and I wont be mixing oils. Of course if anything would come out the bleeder valve I could just let it run until I see the new oil coming out.

what is the premix ratio? the only oil i have is what I just took out could I use that?
wont it affect the running of the ski if the gas is premixed AND it is getting oil from the injector?

no, just run rich, but atleast, you'll see oil entering the injection hoses and if not, you got oil in the gas to not "lean" the pistons.

how much oil do i put in the gas? how do i see the oil entering the injection hoses, they are black rubber (if I'm looking at the right hoses)

should be clear hoses from the pump to manifold fittings. You can syphon out the gas, then just mix around 5gal of gas with 16oz of oil, then once you see the oil "priming" the system, top back off the gas tank w/ strate gas.

ok i turned 50, my eyesight ain't what it used to be. the hoses are actually painted white and only about 2 inches has the paint worn off and inside the dark hull I thought they were black, put a flashlight on them and they are clear as you said. i never got any oil to come out the bleeder valve but I held the injector open and got lots of smoke and saw a couple air bubbles go thru. I took it for a quick 5 minute ride in the dark and it seems to be running ok.

NOW THE NEW PROBLEM... when replacing the bleeder screw i put it in finger tight and gave it an easy half turn with a wrench and the !@*&^ head snapped off. when i came back from the 5 minute ride i checked to see if it was leaking oil, it may be oozing but hard to tell. i left a rag underneath and will check it tomorrow. i sure don't want to drill the damn thing out but do i need to be concerned about air being sucked in thru there if the threaded part still in the hole is not airtight? Is there something I can seal over it with so it dont leak or suck air?
